Brittney Loves Bob: Happy Birthday Sarah

As I predicted last month, Utah has put a hold on all same sex marriages while they appeal Judge Shelby's ruling that banning same sex marriage is unconstitutional. I am very disappointed in my home state, and I wanted to voice my frustration as well as show support for the 900+ couples who are in limbo right now while they wait to hear if their marriages will be granted recognition. Friday afternoon I went to a Same Sex Marriage Support rally at the Capital with my friends Emily and Josh. We are all straight but that doesn't mean we can't love our fellow Utahans and want them to be treated the same way we are. That includes the right to marry the person we love. Despite being straight, The Salt Lake Tribune still posted a picture of Emily and I together and cropped Josh out so we looked like a couple, it was pretty funny!

Saturday I went out to celebrate my best friend Sarah's birthday! She wasn't very happy when she heard Bob and I wouldn't be drinking, but she got over it when I told her I would still dance with her and I would stay the whole night. We started off with dinner at The Copper Onion. Bob and I ordered bone marrow for an appetizer -yes you read that right - BONE MARROW! Bob hated it, but I didn't think it was too bad! You were supposed to spoon it out and put it on some hard bread. It almost tasted like greasy butter on a crouton. Weird, but not bad. After dinner, we went to Gracie's to dance until our feet wouldn't let us stand any longer!
