July

AHH! To anyone who might be out there sporadically checking my blog for new information on my upcoming wedding, I'm so sorry! I promise when I started this blog I didn't intend to only post once a month, I just didn't think about how busy life can get sometimes. Here is an update on what has been going on this month, and a promise from me to try to do better in August! So most of you are probably wondering, what's going on with the wedding planning? This month I finally got my wedding dress back from David's Bridal, they took a little longer than expected to get my dress altered and back to me, but I have it now and it looks perfect! I feel like a wedding topper in my dress! My mom and I have also found a neighbor who rents out wedding decor and linens, etc who is giving us an AMAZING deal on a lot of the random wedding decorations! Thank you Lou Atkinson! My wedding invites are all printed out now as well. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to addressing or mailing the invites, so anyone who still hasn't sent me an address but is expecting an invite, there is still time but hurry up! I have also completely picked out the food for the wedding, and I'm now just waiting until closer to our big day to actually order the food. Speaking of food, we have picked a baker for our cake! My wonderful soon to be brother-in-law, Ryan, and his mother-in-law have done several wedding cakes for the family over the last few years, and have very graciously offered to make our cake for us for free! I'm marrying into an amazing family! Unfortunately there is still a lot to do! We still have not figured out what to do about an officiant, our flowers, or our honeymoon. We have been tossing around ideas for everything and shopping around, but we got side tracked from planning this month. About half way through the month we began our big move from our spacious, private two bedroom two bathroom apartment, to my fiance's parents two room basement. It's been a hard move, trying to downsize, and put most of our stuff into storage and sharing a cramped quarters with our many many pets, but we needed to save money. Not to worry though, I know this will be a great oppertunity for me to get to know my in laws better, save money and go back to school. We handed in our keys this morning to the apartment complex, and did our finally walk thru today though, and that was a little hard. It was like saying good bye to our first home together. Now that the move is complete however and we are back on track for saving money, it's time to buckle down and get this wedding planned! Anyone who is willing to help, we are still struggling to complete the work on the yard for the wedding, and we are still looking for an officiant and any good honeymoon advice. Bob doesn't have his passport yet but he is working on it and should have everything turned in tomorrow. We are on a budget so please no advice like "You should go to Europe" or "I hear Bora Bora is nice this time of year". Yes I have heard both already. Think poor newlywed couple looking for something budget friendly yet romantic. To any faithful readers still reading this, thanks for your patience, and again I promise I will try to do better!
