Man, oh man, why must the weekend always fly by?! Saturday, I woke up with a little less than zero desire to go running. Too bad, I already signed up for a half marathon this October, so I need to get my butt into gear. The sooner the better! (insert exasperated sigh here!) My brilliant plan to trick myself into believing I could skip running for the day? Cleaning! Lots of it. It was actually a pretty productive day, a lot got done, just no training! Luckily the day went by so quickly, that the next thing I know the entire Loose clan had shown up for our family dinner in celebration of my Father-in-law Wayne being home and our Grandma Malan being in town from Idaho! It's always a good time, when the whole family gets together on a nice summer evening for good food and better company! As the sun went down though, the family began to clean up and head home. Cassy and I were able to collect a few donations from the family before they left though and take them to a good old fashioned Beer and Nachos for MS fundraiser. See, every year my friend's Brian and Alex do a ride for MS race on their bikes, and this year they wanted to collect $500 in donations, and what better way than to throw a fundraiser party for the cause. Of course this is a fundraiser near and dear to the family so I felt like I needed to support the cause, and suffering with MS herself, Cassy wanted to go show support as well and show Brian and Alex exactly who they are riding for! It was great seeing old friends and eating good food knowing that the money was going to a great cause! After we had our fill of nachos and socializing, Cassy and I met up with our wonderful men to see World War Z. I'm a sucker for a good zombie flick, and this one was alright entertainment. Unfortunately, Bob said they butchered the actual book by not following even a semblance of the right story line, and I just thought the main character was a bit of an idiot. I mean seriously! Who walks around with their cell phone ring tone turned all the way up when you are about to try sneaking past hordes of zombies that you know are drawn to sound? Even worse, why on earth would you ever put your one and only weapon down and then walk into another room unarmed? Even if there was no threat in that room, you better expect a threat will be in the room where you left your weapon and you won't be able to get to it again, that's how these things work! Stupid! Oh well, what can you expect when a movie uses most of it's budget getting Brad Pitt to play the lead?

Sunday, Bob and I tried to drag ourselves out of bed to do some car shopping. We did manage to get ourselves to the auto mall, but we were tired and feeling lazy so we soon gave up on that venture and we headed back home for a day of pure, unadulterated laziness! We sat around watching movies and napping periodically until it was time to go celebrate my favorite little blond sister's birthday. That's right, little Kelsey, and she just turned 19! I'm sure someone out there is in disbelief that she is already 19 because they remember holding her as a baby and what-not but to me, I grew up with the silly girl and sometimes I forget she is still that young... She's only 1 more year away from leaving her teens though, and that's exciting! We had a nice family BBQ, just the immediate family, and of course cake, ice cream and exchanging of presents. Personally my favorite part of the day though, was just hanging out with my sisters, singing along to Anastasia and talking about boys. You know, the things you can only do with your sisters. I know it's cliche, but I remember my mom telling me as a kid that my sisters would someday be my best friends. I didn't believe her at all, but now I see that she was right all along. I truly love my sisters, and they are like my best friends right now, and I somehow got lucky enough to have not one, not two, but THREE of them! It seems like the older we get, the more true this becomes. Happy Birthday Kelsey, my artist, my comedian, my best friend, and my sister!
